CFP working group recommends 12-team Playoff, including 6 at-large teams and campus games

It appears the reports were correct, big changes could soon be coming for the College Football Playoff.
The College Football Playoff working group is set to announce its recommendation that the four-team format should be expanded to a 12-team format, which includes six conference champions, six at-large teams and first-round games on college campuses.
This news was first reported by Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated.
According to Dellenger, the six highest-rated conference champions would make the Playoff before the six at-large teams were selected.
It’s important to note that this does not exactly mean the Playoff will be expanding, that will be up to the presidents and commissioners to ultimately decide.
The working group is designed to offer its suggestions to those leaders. It’s the working group that is pushing for expansion.
In case you were wondering, the four-team College Football Playoff format is currently slated to run through the 2025 college football season.
