College football rankings 2018: AP Top 25 scores, results for Week 3

The Associated Press Top 25 voters are unlikely to touch the top five, but the other top 20 spots are far from certain heading into Week 4.

The biggest loss of Week 3 belongs to No. 6 Wisconsin falling at home to unranked BYU. Now that LSU has two top-10 wins (No. 7 Auburn, No. 8 Miami), it seems like the No. 6 spot may be filled by Ed Orgeron’s squad. There is a strong case to be made that LSU’s resume is worthy of an even higher ranking, but the AP voters have appeared reluctant to make changes to the top five as long as those teams remain undefeated.

Voters will also have to decide whether they reward teams that did not play due to Hurricane Florence or if No. 13 Virginia Tech, No. 14 West Virginia and No. 18 UCF simply stay put. No. 15 TCU is unlikely to be dinged too severely for losing to Ohio State in a competitive game.

At the bottom of the poll, losses by No. 22 USC and No. 23 Arizona State will almost certainly open up two spots. One thing to watch will be whether No. 17 Boise State lands at the bottom of the poll or all the way outside the rankings after a blowout loss to No. 24 Oklahoma State, a team sure to move up on Sunday afternoon.
