College football rankings 2018: AP Top 25 Week 2 prediction
By SDS Staff
Published:
The Week 2 AP Top 25 is scheduled will be released Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. ET. The USA Today Coaches Poll will be released sometime before the AP Top 25 Poll.
Both polls will certainly look different, too.
Two AP preseason Top 25 ranked teams — No. 23 Texas and No. 19 Florida State — should fall out of the top 25. Texas lost to Maryland, and Florida State lost to No. 20 Virginia Tech.
Meanwhile, the South Carolina Gamecocks should enter the top 25 after the win over Coastal Carolina. The Gamecocks were ranked just outside the top 25 in the Week 1 poll.
Two top 10 teams lost last week in No. 6 Washington and No. 8 Miami. LSU humbled Miami, and Auburn held on to beat Washington. The Hurricanes will likely drop to somewhere in the 20s (we have them at No. 24), while Washington shouldn’t fall out of the top 10.
