Dabo Swinney explains angry rant where he threatened to leave Clemson

After Clemson beat South Carolina 56-35 on Saturday night, there were some Clemson fans who weren’t happy with the team’s defensive performance.
That led to an intense postgame rant from coach Dabo Swinney, who actually threatened to leave Clemson if 12-0 seasons aren’t good enough.
On Tuesday, Swinney walked back those comments a bit, but he still said there are Clemson fans out there that are out of touch with reality (via PostAndCourier.com):
“Our fans are amazing — 98 percent, 98 percent. There’s always a small percentage in anything that are just completely out of touch with reality. Fans can have whatever mindset they want to have. But I don’t want anything to creep into the culture of our program because our players, they get stuff pushed at them — social media,” Swinney said. “I don’t want our players to ever walk off the field — ever — with a win and it so-called feel like a loss. How sad is that? The objective is to win the game. The fun’s in the winning and if it ain’t fun to win, well man, that’s a sad state of affairs.”
Swinney makes a good point — football should be fun, and winning should be even more fun. If fans are going to get on him for a win, he’s not going to be happy.
Would he actually ever leave Clemson, though? It seems as if he’s backed off of that strong statement.
