One of the most highly-anticipated games to kick off the 2025 season is No. 9 LSU at No. 4 Clemson on Aug. 30. It looks like a key piece along Clemson’s offensive line will be in the lineup despite a recent injury.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney confirmed that senior right guard Walker Parks will play against LSU in the season opener. As a precautionary measure, Parks didn’t perform in Thursday’s scrimmage.
“He’ll be alright,” Swinney said. “He’ll be ready to go.”
Parks sat out all but 2 games in 2023 due to injury but then recovered to appear in all 14 games last season. Parker helped Clemson’s offense average 451.9 yards per game, which ranked within the top 15 nationally last season. Parks was selected third-team All-ACC last season.
During his first season at Clemson, Parker was picked as a Freshman All-American by ESPN.
This is just the fifth all-time meeting between Clemson and LSU. LSU leads the all-time series 3-1. It’s the first matchup since LSU knocked off Clemson 42-25 in the College Football Playoff national title game on Jan. 13, 2020.
LSU at Clemson is set for a 7:30 p.m. EST kickoff and will be televised on ABC. The most recent college football odds show Clemson as a 4-point favorite.
