Former Mississippi State quarterbak Dak Prescott has weighed in on the issue of NFL players kneeling before and during the national anthem, especially after President Donald Trump wrote a flurry of tweets about the Dallas Cowboys, Prescott’s current team.

Prescott said he hadn’t paid attention to Trump’s tweets, but was informed of them by reporters.

Playing on Monday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals, the Cowboys took a knee as a team before the flag was unfurled then stood for the national anthem. Since then, Trump has tweeted a series of responses about the Cowboys.

“That’s between them, I guess,” Prescott said, according to the Dallas Morning News. “I’m not here to judge what the President said. I mean, he’s free to speak just like the rest of us are. He’s going to say whatever he wants. We’ve all figured that out.

“For me, it’s just about doing the best I can to help this team and show unity about what we’re trying to accomplish in this country.”
