Dallas WR Cole Beasley implies new Mizzou OC Derek Dooley never taught Cowboys how to run routes

The Missouri Tigers made one of the more eyebrow-raising decisions of the offseason, bringing in former Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley to run the offense.
It was an interesting choice, as Dooley has never called plays before, and to hear current Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley tell it, Dooley didn’t exactly teach receivers in Dallas how to run routes.
Last week, Beasley was praising the Cowboys’ new WR coach, saying Sanjay Lal actually instructs players on how to run routes:
Cole Beasley a big fan of new Cowboys WR coach Sanjay Lal: It feels like the first time we’re actually being taught how to run routes instead of just naturally doing

The Dooley experiment will be a big one for the Tigers this fall, as senior QB Drew Lock is one of the most-talented returning players in the country.
Dooley’s offense will surely be much different than former Mizzou OC Josh Heupel’s, and it’ll be interesting to see if the Tigers manage to maintain their high-scoring ways while giving the defense more rest on the sidelines.
