D’Andre Swift is in his first season with the Chicago Bears after 3 seasons with the Detroit Lions and one with the Philadelphia Eagles. Swift and the Bears were in Landover, Md. on Sunday to face the Washington Commanders in a Week 8 matchup.

After a slow start to the season — just 68 yards on 37 carries and 6 catches for 46 yards in his first 3 games — Swift has caught fire, averaging over 134 scrimmage yards in his last 3 outings. And that hot play continued on Sunday as he went over 100 yards rushing for the first time this season and for the first time since Week 3 of 2023.

Following a touchdown late in the 3rd quarter to put the Bears on the board, Swift was at it again five minutes into the 4th quarter, taking a 22-yard carry to the Chicago 44 but impressively hurdling a Commanders defender in the process.

The 4-2 Bears, who won their season opener before dropping back-to-back games, entered Week 8 on a 3-game winning streak, defeating the Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers, and Jacksonville Jaguars while averaging 31.6 points a game.

Meanwhile, the Commanders came in at 5-2 and perfect at Northeast Stadium, their last win a 40-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers.
