Deebo Samuel and the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 on Sunday to improve to 5-4 while evening their away record at 2-2.
That said, the game wasn’t without its share of drama as Samuel was the central figure in a heated exchange with a couple of his teammates.
One of those teammates was Jake Moody, who had a rough afternoon: the 49ers kicker missed three field goals including one with 3 minutes, 13 seconds remaining in regulation with the Niners up 20-17.
That led to an eyebrow-raising moment as Samuel was shown on camera on the sideline grabbing the neck of Niners long snapper Taybor Pepper before making contact to the helmet of Moody. Here’s video of the altercation:

The Bucs tied the game with a 26-yard Chase McLaughlin field goal with 41 seconds remaining, but Moody ultimately redeemed himself with a 44-yard make with no time left as the Niners pulled out a last-second win.
Samuel, for his, part had a strong performance, making 5 catches for 62 yards while being targeted 6 times. Despite the win, Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan is sure to be asked what happened with his star wide receiver.
Meanwhile, San Francisco, winners of two straight, host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11 as each team tries to make headway in a tight NFC West race.
