Devon Achane gave Texas A&M just what it needed late in the third quarter, and breathed life into the Kyle Field crowd as a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown tied the game against Appalachian State.

If it looked familiar, Aggie fans might remember Achane last season returned a kickoff 96 yards midway through the third quarter in the win over No. 1 Alabama. As a 19-point favorite over App State, the Aggies looked for some juice, and that’s exactly what Achane delivered with his track speed. Achane has both touchdowns for the Aggies on Saturday.

Achane has been a playmaker for a while for the Aggies, but last season he really turned it up a notch.

He led the SEC and was top-11 in the country in yards per attempt with 7.0 He was second on the team in rushing with 910 yards, and led the team with 11 total touchdowns, including at least one as a rusher, returner and receiver.
