Dickie V calls for John Calipari and Rick Pitino to coach against each other in New York City

Now that Rick Pitino is back in the college coaching ranks at Iona, he and the Gaels are going to have to fill out some nonconference schedules.

Well, ESPN analyst Dick Vitale has some thoughts on one big-name opponent the Gaels could schedule.

As you can see in the video below, Dickie V calls for Pitino to take on his old school — Kentucky. He says it would be great to see Kentucky coach John Calipari square off with Iona in New York City in a game to benefit The V Foundation:

That would definitely be a fun game to watch, and one Kentucky fans would love to see the Wildcats win.

There’s more flexibility with nonconference scheduling in basketball than there is in football, so this is a matchup that could certainly happen in the near future.
