Fresh off winning New Hampshire, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is trying to win Louisiana.

On Thursday night, the current frontrunner in the GOP race attempted to do that in front of a near-sellout crowd of about 10,000 at LSU’s Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

He obviously knows how important SEC football is in the South.

Apparently, Trump believes the Bayou Bengals are going to win the national championship next season.

Trump asked the crowd, “Is LSU going to win the big game next year?” Trump answered his own question by saying, “Yes!” He explained why by saying, “Good team. Good coach. Good Everything.”

Then, Trump started up an L-S-U chant.

It wasn’t just fans who were in attendance at the rally. Star defensive end Lewis Neal was in the crowd, and he gave his take on the presidential election to Trip Gabriel of the New York Times.
