Drake Maye was drafted as the quarterback of the future for the New England Patriots.

As a rookie joining a franchise that has been through its share of QBs after the departure of Tom Brady, the expectations for Maye were high, evan as he began the season as the backup to Jacoby Brissett. The No. 3 overall pick, though, has performed well when called upon.

Maye got the start for the Patriots’ game against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Sunday. But with the Patriots trailing 17-10 and needing a last-second score, the former North Carolina QB delivered with a miraculous play during the final ticks of regulation.

Here’s video of the play that saw Maye somehow avoid a sack and find Rhamondre Stevenson in the end zone:

Unfortunately for the Patriots, Maye threw a game-ending interception after the Titans kicked a field goal to take a 20-17 lead in overtime. But it’s plays like the one to tie it that have provided optimism for New England fans hoping that their team can take their place among the NFL’s elite once more. Maye’s final line: 29-of-41, 206 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions, with 8 carries for 95 yards.

The Patriots fell to 2-7 with the loss. They visit the Chicago Bears in Week 10.
