Dylan Crews is headed to The Show, according to multiple reports.
Crews has had a solid season in the Nationals organization — his first full year in pro ball. The 22-year old is slashing .272/.343./.456 in 99 games across the AA and AAA levels this year. He’s hit a total of 13 home runs, with 8 coming in just 48 games at AAA Rochester.
Crews is expected to make his debut on Monday in Washington DC as the Nats take on the New York Yankees.

Crews has been especially dominant during the month of August. Since the start of this month, he’s hitting .306 with a .542 slugging percentage against AAA opposition. He’s also hit 4 home runs and has a strikeout rate of just 18% over that span.
2023 MLB Draft review
Crews was widely-regarded as the top talent in what was a loaded 2023 MLB Draft class. He’s the 4th player from that first-round to make their debut so far, joining Nolan Schanuel, Wyatt Langford and Paul Skenes.
Schanuel, Langford and Skenes have all had varying degrees of success. Schanuel, who actually debuted at the end of the 2023 season, has a .725 OPS in his first season of big-league action. Lanford made the Opening Day roster for the Rangers but has struggled to get to his elite power at this level – he has just 7 homers in 416The plate appearances. Skenes has had the best debut of the trio, as he’s amongst the favorites to win NL Rookie of the Year with a 2.16 ERA and a strikeout rate that places him in the 94th percentile of all MLB pitchers.
Crews and Skenes could end up facing off in the Majors before the end of the 2024 season. The Nationals and Pirates are scheduled to play a 4-game series in Pittsburgh from Sept. 5-8.
The Nationals have not yet confirmed the decision to promote Crews to the Major Leagues.
