Ed Orgeron says key LSU defender has been on crutches, questionable for Alabama game
As if LSU needed to hear more bad news this week, head coach Ed Orgeron announced that Maason Smith is on crutches and is questionable for the Alabama game Saturday.
Maason Smith has been on crutches since Tuesday, Ed Orgeron said. He’s questionable to play against Alabama. LSU still hopes he will.

Smith is just the latest LSU player who is either questionable or won’t be available Saturday.
This would raise the number to, I believe, 12 expected starters potentially out in Tuscaloosa. https://t.co/rk6uz3PRDr

Smith has 19 tackles, including 4 sacks, on the season.
LSU has been hit hard by both the injury bug and the transfer portal throughout the 2021 season. Ed Orgeron was forced to cancel practices in the bye week due to a lack of available players.
