Eli Drinkwitz and No. 16 Missouri will emerge from the bye week with a massive challenge at No. 1 Georgia on Nov. 4.

Georgia sits atop the SEC East standings while Missouri is currently tied for second with Florida with a 3-1 mark.

Missouri is coming off a convincing 34-12 victory vs. South Carolina for its second straight win after losing to LSU.

Georgia returns from its bye week with a neutral site clash against rival Florida this weekend in Jacksonville.

While the Bulldogs will be without star tight end Brock Bowers for an indefinite amount of time due to an ankle injury, Drinkwitz isn’t taking the defending back-to-back national champions lightly. Georgia’s dominant defense hasn’t allowed over 21 points in any game this season.

“It’s the same thing I’ve seen every year since I’ve been here. Talented team, they’ve got elite coaches, elite players,” Drinkwitz said during a recent press conference. “They believe in their scheme, they don’t beat themselves, they play physical, they play tough. Coach Smart’s done an excellent job throughout the program and they’re a really good football team.”

Georgia leads the all-time series 11-1 against Missouri with 9 consecutive victories against the Tigers. Missouri’s lone win vs. Georgia occurred in 2013 with a 41-26 victory in Athens.
