Running back Micah Rhodes has reopened his recruitment following his decommitment from Oklahoma, according to Rivals.

Rhodes committed to the Sooners back in late January of this year, but after his main recruiter, DeMarco Murray, left for the NFL, he decided to reopen his recruitment. Murray accepted a job to become the next running backs coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Rhodes is ranked as the No. 2 RB in the country according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

Rhodes will have his choice of whatever top program he wants to attend. The Texas native holds offers from Alabama, Missouri, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Notre Dame, and more.

Before committing to Oklahoma, Rhodes only took one unofficial visit to Texas A&M. He also attended a Texas Longhorns camp back in June of 2025.

Rhodes was the only hard commit Oklahoma had in the class of 2028, and with him leaving, the Sooners’ cabinet looks bare for 2028. However, there’s no doubt that head coach Brent Venables and Oklahoma will find their guys in the class of 2028. Oklahoma currently has the No. 1-ranked class in the 2027 class according to 247Sports, proving its ability to recruit high-level talent.
