ESPN’s SP+ predicts final score of Vanderbilt vs. South Carolina in Week 3

A pair of undefeated SEC teams clash in Week 3 as Vanderbilt (2-0) takes on host No. 11 South Carolina (2-0) on Saturday. ESPN’s SP+ has predicted the final score of the showdown, picking South Carolina to defeated Vanderbilt 30-21.

South Carolina kicked off the season with a 24-11 victory vs. Virginia Tech at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. South Carolina followed that up with a 38-10 win vs. South Carolina State in their home opener last Saturday.

Vanderbilt routed Charleston Southern 45-3 in their season opener. In Week 2, Vanderbilt took down Virginia Tech 44-20 on the road, so they have beating the Hokies in common with South Carolina.

South Carolina has dominated the all-time series vs. Vanderbilt, with a 30-4 edge. South Carolina is currently on a staggering 16-game winning streak against Vanderbilt, which dates back to 2009.

The Gamecocks beat Vanderbilt 28-7 last season in Nashville. The last 3 victories have been by a combined 73 points. The last time Vanderbilt won a road game at South Carolina was a 17-6 victory on Oct. 20, 2007.

Vanderbilt at South Carolina is slated for a 7:45 p.m. ET kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium and will be televised on the SEC Network.
