Last season, Tennessee topped Alabama 52-49 in a thriller for its first victory against the Crimson Tide since 2006. It was a 15-game losing streak for Tennessee against Alabama prior to that point.
Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was a backup last season and is excited to etch his name into the history of the long-time rivalry.
“It’s a historic rivalry that I’m just learning more and more about being in college. It’s very exciting to be part of a rivalry. It’s going to take a lot of preparation this week just because of how hard this opponent is. It’s a great opportunity for us,” Milroe said during a recent press conference. “We’re excited the challenge. It’s going to be great. It’s great to have this rivalry going on and it’s going to be fun.”
Alabama is coming off a 24-21 victory vs. Arkansas. Tennessee most recently defeated Texas A&M 20-13.
Tennessee at Alabama is slated for a 3:30 p.m. EST kickoff on Saturday and will be televised on CBS.
