If that situation actually occurs, it would prevent LSU from winning back-to-back games vs. Alabama for the first time since 2010-11. LSU narrowly defeated Alabama last season in Baton Rouge during Brian Kelly’s first year at the helm.
With divisions going away starting next season, Kelly is advocating for the rivalry to still be played every year.
“We’re going to have a say with teams we want to keep on our schedule. Each school has natural rivalries,” Kelly said. “Talking to Scott Woodward, we’d both be in agreement LSU-Alabama is a game we’d like to see played every year.”
Alabama leads the all-time series 55-27-5 against LSU. LSU at Alabama is set for 7:45 p.m. EST on CBS. With CBS in its last season of SEC coverage, Nick Saban also recently reflected on Alabama’s storied relationship with the network.
