Florida catcher BT Riopelle had a terrific season for the Gators in 2022. Despite his team failing to advance past the NCAA regional they hosted, the former Coastal Carolina backstop hit .304 in 64 games with 15 home runs, 9 doubles, and 55 RBI, en route to an All-SEC 1st-team nod.

However, the 4th-year junior ultimately did not hear his name called during the 2022 MLB Draft, but could have decided to pursue a professional career anyway and hope to be signed as a free agent by an MLB team.

On Tuesday, Riopelle took to Twitter to announce his decision for 2023. As you can see below, it’s good news for Gator fans as he will be back in a Florida uniform for one more season:

Florida ended the year with a 42-24 record, going 15-15 in SEC play and finishing 2nd in the Eastern Division. It ultimately advanced to the SEC championship game, where it lost to Tennessee, before hosting a regional.
