The Missouri-Florida game will be a homecoming of sorts for Florida Gators cornerback Jadarrius Perkins. Out of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Perkins signed with Mizzou. After spending the spring semester at MU, he decided to transfer to Gainesville and play for the Gators.

Perkins said the Columbia climate was part of the reason for his transfer.

“My first day it was snowing,” Perkins told Swamp247. “My first day it started snowing. It wasn’t a good feeling. I’m from Mississippi, I’m not used to the snow. That was my first time ever seeing the snow. That was overwhelming, for real.”

Though his time with Eli Drinkwitz’s program was brief, Perkins has been happy to share what he knows.

“Anything coach asks me, I’m willing to allow a hand, tell them everything I know personally from my experience there,” Perkins said.

Perkins, who has logged 25 tackles and 2 pass breakups at UF, says he’s stayed in touch with his former Tiger teammates.

“We’ve been talking since I left. Those my guys back there,” he said. “Since I arrived at Florida, we been talking. It’s going to be a really fun game. I’m looking forward to being in Columbia again.”

Florida visits Missouri Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
