The top offensive lineman in the Class of 2027 has committed to play for Florida. Maxwell Hiller, a 5-star offensive lineman from Pennsylvania, made the announcement on Wednesday.
Out of Coatesville (Pennsylvania) Area High School, Hiller is listed at 6-5 and 300 pounds. As one might expect, Phil Trautwein was key in Hiller’s recruitment. Trautwein, a two-time national champion as a Gator lineman, spent the past 6 seasons as offensive line coach at Penn State before joining Jon Sumrall‘s first UF coaching staff.

“I took so many visits to Penn State while he was there,” Hiller said to ESPN about his bond with Trautwein. “I’ve trained with him. I’ve watched him work with players. He’s more than a coach for me. He’s my guy. That relationship right there is a huge part of why we got interested in Florida.”

Hiller is rated 5-stars, the No. 1 interior offensive lineman, No. 1 player from Pennsylvania and No. 5 prospect overall in the Class of 2027 on the 247Sports Composite. That makes him Florida’s highest-rated offensive lineman pledge in over a decade. Martez Ivey was rated the No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 5 overall recruit in the Class of 2015.
With Hiller on board, Florida now has 4 verbal commitments for 2027 in the early stages of the recruiting cycle. Fans can get a preview of what Hiller brings to The Swamp by checking out his highlights in the Hudl video below:
