Florida OLB Shanon Reid commits to Tennessee

Tennessee’s momentum on the recruiting trail continues with the pickup of four-star outside linebacker Shanon Reid.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Dunbar linebacker (Fort Myers, Fla.) committed to Tennessee Wednesday.

According to 247Sports, Reid rates as the nation’s No. 16 outside linebacker in the nation and the No. 31 overall prospect from Florida. The Volunteers now have 25 commitments for 2017, a class that was recently ranked No. 11 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC with the addition of five-star OT Trey Smith.

Reid had 30 offers, including LSU, Mississippi State and Missouri. He was recruited by tight ends and special teams coach Larry Scott and linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen.
