Florida State defensive coordinator Tony White met with reporters on Tuesday afternoon in Tallahassee.

White is in his first season on the job at FSU, joining Mike Norvell’s staff from Nebraska after the 2024 season. Florida State has endured an 0-4 start to ACC play this year, including a loss to Stanford on the road this past weekend.

The on-field struggles have result in “death threats” made to him on social media, White said tuesday.

“All the time, bro,” White said when asked if he’s received death threats. “That’s real … That’s just part of social media, right? The vitriol that’s out there, that’s what you sign up for in this profession.

“Obviously when you’re not producing the way you’re supposed to produce, there’s a couple of those people that want to let you know.”

The future of Florida State’s coaching staff is uncertain moving forward. The Noles have lost 11 of their last 12 ACC games since they went undefeated during the regular season and won the ACC Championship back in 2023. Florida State athletic director Michael Alford said this week that head coach Mike Norvell will be fully evaluated after the end of the season.

Florida State will look for its first ACC win of the season in Week 10 when it hosts Wake Forest.
