Florida State linebacker Ethan Pritchard hospitalized after shooting, per report
Florida State linebacker Ethan Pritchard has been hospitalized after being shot on Sunday night, according to a report.
The Orlando Sentinel’s Chris Hays reported that news on Sunday evening, citing sources. Hays’ report says Pritchard was in Havana, Florida, on Sunday night and was driving a family member home when his vehicle was shot at.
Florida State issued a statement on Pritchard’s status on Monday morning. Per FSU, he’s in “critical but stable condition” and is in an intensive care unit at a local hospital.
“The Pritchard family is thankful for the support from so many people, as well as the care from first responders and medical professionals, and asks that their privacy be respected at this time,” the statement reads.
Pritchard signed with Florida State back in December as a member of its 2025 recruiting class. He was regarded as a 3-star prospect and was ranked as the No. 507 recruit in the country for that cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He was also rated as the No. 54 linebacker.
Pritchard is a Florida native. He attended Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida.
Florida State is coming off of a big upset win over Alabama in Week 1, 31-17. Pritchard did not play in the win over the Crimson Tide. FSU is scheduled to host East Texas A&M on Saturday.
