It has been a rough year for the Cincinnati Bengals, who have yet to win a game and are in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 overall pick in 2020.
Former Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick played in 6 games, recording 33 tackles and recovering a fumble. However, he’s missed the last few weeks with an injury.
Now, he’s been placed on season-ending injured reserve, according to a release from the team:
“It’s been hard to predict when he doesn’t feel ready to come back in these next couple of weeks,” said head coach Zac Taylor said practice. “So I felt it was in everybody’s best interest to give him time to heal. It’s tough when you’ve got guys that you’re not quite sure what the long-term diagnosis is going to be and they keep taking a spot. We just felt like it was the best decision and it gives him a chance to get healthy.”
Kirkpatrick will try to recover fully this offseason and return in 2020. Will he still be with the Bengals at that time?
