Former Alabama OL Lester Cotton was waived by the Las Vegas Raiders, the second former Alabama player to receive such roster news this season.
Cotton was active for 10 games this season with the Raiders, and made one start. Cotton originally signed with the Raiders in 2019, and was waived in 2020 before he returned to the organization last season. Cotton followed Alex Leatherwood, who was also waived by the Raiders earlier this season.
Cotton is a Tuscaloosa, Alabama native who moved to left guard as a senior (10 starts) after he started 18 games at right guard in his first 3 seasons. He finished his career with 28 starts

Cotton played 23 offensive snaps in Las Vegas’ season-opening game, then made his first NFL start and played all 67 offensive snaps at right guard in the second contest – a 29-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 18, AL.com noted.
Since then, Cotton’s action has been limited to special-teams work in 8 games.
