Robert Foster was a solid contributor to the Buffalo Bills in recent years, but upgrades to that position meant he was pushed down the depth chart. However, the former Alabama star has landed with a new team.
One day after he was released by the Buffalo Bills, Foster has landed with the Green Bay Packers, who signed the third-year pro to a practice squad deal on Sunday, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com.
Foster left the Bills after they added UCF’s Gabriel Davis in the NFL Draft and 3 players ahead of him, including Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley.
Foster joined the Bills after he was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2018. A two-time national champion at Alabama, Foster was known for his speed and athleticism with the Crimson Tide. His production dropped off last year from 2018, from 27 catches, to 3, and 64 yards from 541 receiving. He has started in 5 games, and appeared in 26 games in his NFL career.
Overall, Foster has caught 30 passes for 605 yards and three touchdowns, including 27 catches for 541 yards and all three scores during his rookie season in 2018.
Surprised he’s on the practice squad. He could become a nice difference maker. Good player with great speed https://t.co/vX1l6QKEAX
