Former Arkansas RB Knile Davis in jeopardy of not making Chief’s 53-man roster

After a reduced role last season, could former Arkansas RB Knile Davis be left off the final roster for 2016?
The Kansas City Star’s Blair Kerkhoff wonders if Davis, entering his fourth year, has done enough in preseason to justify the Cheifs keeping him as a fourth running back. Trade rumors have surrounded the former Razorback all offseason.
When Kerkhoff asked Davis if he was worried about being let go, he said he just wanted to make a positive impression Thursday night.
“I just wanted to have a clean game,” Davis said. “I wanted to do everything right, hit my holes, catch the ball, just fine tune. I’ve been in the league going on four years. I pretty much know what to expect. So this was a fine-tuning game for me.”
Kerkhoff notes that the Kansas City’s top three running backs did not see action Thursday night. Davis, who split snaps with Darrin Reaves, finished with 14 carries for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Whether that will be enough to keep his roster spot remains to be seen.
