Former Arkansas wide receiver Kendrick Edwards III announced Wednesday evening that he will be transferring to Arkansas State, where he will have to sit out the 2016 season before having two years of eligibility remaining.

Edwards (6-foot-6, 205 pounds), a former 3-star prospect from the 2014 recruiting class, was booted from the team in the spring of 2015 for undisclosed violation of team rules, but was allowed to return to the program that summer. However, Arkansas coach Bret Bielema dismissed him again in the middle of this past season — a final decision that has stuck.
In seven career appearances with the Razorbacks, Edwards recorded eight receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown.
