49ers wide receiver Bruce Ellington scored two touchdowns Saturday night against San Diego before leaving with a hamstring pull, doubling his previous total in what has been an inconsistent rookie season.
Ellington touched the ball three times in the first half and managed two trips to the end zone, the second coming with six seconds left in the second quarter on a 1-yard jet sweep score.
Ellington eluded fellow former South Carolina standout Melvin Ingram for the touchdown.

Primarily used on special teams for the 49ers this season, Ellington’s four targets tied a season-high. His second career touchdown reception came on an 8-yard corner route from Colin Kaepernick.

San Francisco built a three-touchdown lead at intermission before falling in overtime, 38-35. The disappointing loss all but ends Jim Harbaugh’s tenure as coach after the season.
