The last time we saw kicker Rodrigo Blankenship in an NFL game he missed a 42-yard kick in overtime that would have won the season opener for the Indianapolis Colts.

Since then “Hot Rod” has been patiently waiting for another opportunity and he’ll get it Thursday night with the Arizona Cardinals, just two days after being signed to the team’s practice squad.

The former Georgia kicker spent three seasons in Indianapolis before he was waived in September. He is 45-of-54 on field goals in the NFL with a long of 53 yards.

Blankenship won the Lou Groza Award in 2019.
