Former Georgia standout Andrew Thomas will be donning a new number in the NFL.
The New York Giants selected Thomas with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and New York is building a young and talented roster around quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley. Thomas is the latest piece to the puzzle.
The talented All-SEC lineman and All-American revealed Thursday in a Twitter post that he’ll be changing his uniform number from 71, which he wore at Georgia, to 78 with the Giants.

Thomas has a total contract value with the Giants worth more than $32 million, with a base salary of $610,000 for 2020. The rookie Thomas is slated to likely become the Giants future at left tackle; however, for 2020, he’ll battle veteran Nate Solder for the starting job at the position.
Giants head coach Joe Judge also said Thomas would compete at both left and right tackle.
