Former Georgia WR Chris Conley is showing great improvement in his second training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to one of Conley’s coaches, some of the credit goes to a player we treat as an honorary SEC alumnus at Saturday Down South.
“One of the big reasons, I think, is he spent some quality time with Jeremy Maclin during the offseason,” Chiefs WR coach David Culley said of Conley’s improvement. “Jeremy being the veteran he is and being the kind of player that he’s been over the years, I think you can see that Chris has picked up some things from him and accelerated his process and getting better.”
Maclin, who played for the Tigers prior to their SEC membership (2007-08) and earned unanimous All-American honors as a freshman, joined the Chiefs in 2015 after a productive six-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kansas City picked Conley in the third round of the 2015 draft. As a rookie, the former Bulldog played in 16 games last season, starting in five. Conley recorded 17 catches for 199 yards and a touchdown.
