With a salary of $14 million per year, Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman is considered one of the top cornerbacks in pro football.
Sherman recently made a bold prediction: Ex-LSU CB Tharold Simon will eventually be the better cornerback of the two.
“He’s an incredible athlete,” Sherman recently told the team’s official website. “He’s going to be a great ball player. I continue to stand by what I’ve always said: he’s going to be better than me by the time it’s all said and done.
The former Tiger hasn’t always been on the track to be compared to an elite cornerback like Sherman. He was a fifth round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, and spent that season on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. He played in 10 games during the 2014 season, but only appeared in one game last season, missing the rest of the season due to a toe injury.
That’s not stopping Sherman from standing by a prediction he made years ago and still believes in today.
“The kid’s a player, he just needs to put it all together and hopefully he can stay healthy and it’ll be a fantastic year for him.”
