The difference between winning and losing in college football is often razor thin, but Missouri vs. Vanderbilt came down to a matter of inches.
The game ended wildly with a Hail Mary from Missouri quarterback Matt Zollers to Kevin Coleman Jr. that was less than a yard short from the end zone.
The insane outcome was determined by the refs after video review.
Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia scored the game-winning 1-yard rushing touchdown with 1:52 to go to finish off a 9-play, 44-yard drive. This occurred after Missouri knotted the game at 10 on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Zollers to tight end Jude James with 12:49 remaining.
Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy had a game-high 97 yards on the ground in the loss.
Missouri drops to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the SEC with the loss. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt improves to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in SEC play. This is the best start for Vanderbilt since an 8-1 mark in 1941.
Next on the docket for Missouri is a home game vs. Texas A&M on Nov. 8 after a bye week, as they aim to avoid a losing streak. Vanderbilt will aim to keep it rolling when they take on host Texas on Nov. 1.
