FootballScoop.com reported Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema was engaged in “serious talks” with Nebraska officials regarding its vacant head coaching position yesterday.

Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman confirmed the report of Nebraska’ interest in the second-year Razorbacks coach.

Bielema told reporters Wednesday he was committed to Arkansas and looked forward to 2015 coaching the Razorbacks.

A former NFL vice president and NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt confirmed that Nebraska athletic director Scott Eichorst offered Bielema the job, but was turned down.

While Nebraska’s interest in Bielema has not be doubted, nor their efforts to reach out to the former Wisconsin coach, ESPN’s Chris Low reached out to Bielema Wednesday evening and confirmed he would stay in Fayetteville.
