Greg McElroy makes case for why Harold Perkins should be getting Heisman buzz

Greg McElroy watched on Saturday as LSU freshman LB Harold Perkins wreaked absolute havoc in the Arkansas backfield.
Even playing with the flu, Perkins had a huge game, forcing 2 fumbles that helped LSU’s defense bail out the offense in a 13-10 victory in Fayetteville.
After the game, McElroy took to Twitter to wonder if Perkins deserves to be in the Heisman Trophy conversation due to his disruptive play:
Honest question…
If the Heisman goes to the "Most Outstanding Player"…
Should Harold Perkins (@LSUfootball LB) be given a little consideration?
It doesn't HAVE to be a QB or RB, IMO… Who's playing better than him right now?
He won't win, but he should be considered..

Here’s a look at a pair of forced fumbles Perkins had. The first play, he runs down Arkansas QB Malik Hornsby, who has legitimate track star speed:

LSU clinched a spot in the SEC Championship Game with a win and a loss by Ole Miss against Alabama.
If the Tigers are going to pull off the upset of Georgia in that game, Perkins is going to need to continue being a game wrecker for the LSU defense. We’ll see how he progresses the final 2 weeks of the regular season.
