Auburn needed a victory versus Georgia on Saturday in order to play for the SEC West Division crown against rival Alabama in a couple of weeks.
Whether the Tigers looked ahead or not — it will now not be afforded the opportunity to compete for a conference title.
Gus Malzahn’s team was upset 13-7 by the Bulldogs in Athens. In the second half, Auburn accrued an anemic 32 yards on 22 plays. Quarterback Sean White had a massive inability to throw the football, and Georgia did a great job of stuffing the run.
Malzahn had a few thoughts on the contest in the postgame presser:
Malzahn: "Give (UGA) credit, they had a good job, but we didn't execute and do what we needed to do."

Malzahn: Our offense didn't get it done today, it's as simple as that.

Gus Malzahn said quarterback Sean White didn't throw to his receivers in practice for the second straight week. 'He's not 100 percent.'

Malzahn on RBs outside of Kerryon: "Stanton Truitt got hurt the first time we gave it to him." Says Auburn is beat up at the position.

Malzahn: "We're disappointed. We didn't talk about the SEC Championship. We talked about Georgia."

'We've got two more games. Our guys will rebound. This is a tough group. We have great leadership,' says Auburn's Gus Malzahn
