Auburn is using a Will Ferrell movie to recruit highly-coveted graduate transfer

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s 2008 comedy “Step Brothers” is one of the more quotable movies of the last decade.
So it only makes sense that coaches would use that to their advantage when the opportunity presents itself.
Former Rhode Island offensive lineman Tyler Catalina has become one of the hottest names on the graduate transfer scene.
Auburn, Florida and Georgia are among the SEC teams that are believed to have serious interest in adding Catalina, who would be eligible to play this fall.
As you may have already noticed, Catalina’s last name squares up perfectly from one of the main plot lines of the movie, which comes to a dramatic ending at the “annual Cataline wine mixer.”
The connection between the names gave new Tigers OL coach Herb Hand an idea.
The Tigers used the movie poster, which is pictured in the Tweet below, to do a little Photoshop work in an attempt at humor during the recruitment.

Brandon Marcello, who is the Auburn beat writer for AL.com, was able to get his hands on Auburn’s modified take of the movie poster, featuring Hand and Catalina as Ferrell and O’Reilly in the “AU Catalina O-Line Mixer.”
Good stuff, guys.
