Houston pulls off stunning 4th-quarter comeback, shocks Memphis

Houston rallied from a 19-point deficit in the fourth quarter against Memphis and won a game that might have saved tne tenure of head coach Dana Holgorsen.
Clayton Tune threw a short touchdown pass to KeSean Carter with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give the Cougars an unlikely 33-32 win. Houston (3-3) scored 26 points in the fourh quarter and got two huge plays on special teams to contribute to the comeback.
Memphis (4-2) jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter and led 20-7 after three quarters in what had been a pretty run-of-the-mill game.
The Tigers extended their lead to 26-7 early in the fourth when Gabriel Rogers threw a 41-yard pass to Asa Martin and led 29-13 midway through the quarter after a 26-yard field from Chris Howard.
But Jayce Rogers took the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion failed and the Cougars trailed 29-19. Howard hit another field goal from 38 yards to make it 32-19 with 4:04 remaining.
Tune drove Houston down the field quickly and connected with Carter on a 12-yard touchdown pass to make it 32-26 with 1:17 remaining. Houston had no timeouts and needed to recover an onside. It was perfectly executed with the Cougars recovering near midfield. The play set up the eventual winning score.
Tune threw for 366 yards and three touchdowns for Houston. Wide receiver Sam Brown grabbed nine receptions for 116 yards.
