The most powerful brand in sports ends it association with Jameis Winston.

Nike announced it would not renew its contract with the Tampa Bay QB, per ESPN’s Darren Rovell.

Winston is suspended for the first three games of the season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy (allegedly groping an Uber driver), but the powerful sports brand ended their relationship with Winston even prior to the suspension announcement.

The former No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick eventually apologized for the suspension after denying that the incident even took place.

Nike’s bet on former Heisman Trophy winners Winston, Johnny Manziel and Tim Tebow certainly haven’t panned out.
