Florida needed a kicker this year. . . bad. The Gators went just 7 for 17 on field goal attempts this year.
So when Florida landed a commitment from Eddy Pineiro, ranked the No. 1 kicker in the recruiting class, there was a bit of an excitement.
How much excitement? Pineiro recorded coach Jim McElwain’s reaction when he called him to inform him of his commitment:

The always excitable McElwain seemed pretty stoked to have his kicker resolved for the next four years it would seem.
