The project was already planned before Joe Moorhead was hired to be Mississippi State’s coach. But that doesn’t change the fact that he’s impressed.
A new locker room and recruiting suite have been added to Davis Wade Stadium since the end of last season, which certainly gives the Bulldogs’ facilities a boost.
And with improvements always occurring around the SEC, it was important for Mississippi State to keep up.
- Certainly, we gave our team a look at it. With the arms race of facilities in the conference, if you are standing still, you are falling back.
The new facilities could have an impact in landing recruits in the near future.
During the teleconference, Moorhead also discussed the versatility of senior defensive back Chris Rayford, who could have a big impact on the team this season.
- He is being cross-trained, but he’s at safety for now. He’s tough, he’s intelligent, he has cover corner skills from the safety position.
Mississippi State opens the season against Stephen F. Austin on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
