Joel Klatt ranks 3 SEC teams in his top 10 following Week 8

After the Week 8 action from the college football slate, the SEC is getting plenty of love from FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt.

The national analyst unveiled his top 10 and it featured 3 teams from the conference. Tennessee checked in at No. 2 after routing UT Martin 65-24. Georgia had a bye this week and is in the No. 3 spot. Meanwhile, Alabama earned the No. 5 ranking after bouncing back from the loss to Tennessee with a 30-6 victory against Mississippi State.

Tennessee amassed 696 total yards and only committed 1 turnover in the blowout. Quarterback Hendon Hooker completed 18 of his 24 passes for 276 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Receiver Jalin Hyatt caught 7 passes for 174 yards and 2 touchdowns. Squirrel White had 5 receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown.

Alabama avoided a losing streak despite Mississippi State having 3 more total yards. Alabama didn’t commit a turnover in the win. Quarterback Bryce Young completed 21 of his 35 passes for 249 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Young threw his touchdowns to JoJo Earle and Traeshon Holden.

In Georgia’s last game, it blanked Vanderbilt 55-0. Georgia held Vanderbilt to 150 total yards while not committing a turnover.

Next up for Tennessee is a home contest against No. 19 Kentucky on Saturday (7 p.m. ET/ESPN). Georgia will take on Florida on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET/CBS) from Jacksonville. Alabama has a bye week and then will travel to LSU on Nov. 5.
