Reports out of Denver Broncos training camp this summer haven’t been good when it comes to the quarterback position.
As Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch battle for the starting job, neither seems to be inspiring much confidence heading into the 2017 season.
That led to 104.3 The FAN reporter Sandy Clough reporting on Wednesday morning that the Broncos were looking into a trade for Cincinnati Bengals backup QB AJ McCarron, who won three BCS national championships during his college career at Alabama:
BREAKING: Sandy Clough is reporting that the #Broncos are aggressively pursuing a trade for #Bengals backup QB AJ McCarron. #Decision17

However, Broncos general manager John Elway didn’t appreciate Clough’s report. He decided to do what everyone does when faced with negative media coverage these days and called the report fake news:
Rumor of us being interested in anyone other than the QBs we have is another example of irresponsible, fake news!!

Only time will tell if the Broncos are panicking about their quarterback situation or not, but Elway wants to make it perfectly clear that McCarron won’t be heading west any time soon.
