The Alabama Crimson Tide got some less-than-ideal news last week when star running back Jam Miller went down with a collarbone injury during the team’s second scrimmage of camp on Saturday.
Early reports were that the senior leader was expected to miss some time with the injury, but it wasn’t clear initially just how long Miller would be on the shelf.
According to The Crimson and White’s Elijah Burks, Second-year head coach Kalen DeBoer recently offered some more clarification on his star tailback’s injury status, stating that Miller will be out for the Tide’s week one matchup against the Florida State Seminoles. He then will be evaluated on a “week-to-week basis.”
Miller being ruled out for week one against the Noles isn’t too much of a surprise, but his absence from the lineup is still likely to be a massive blow for DeBoer’s squad.
The senior leader in the backfield racked up 823 total yards and eight total touchdowns in 2024 as a junior as Bama’s bell cow ball carrier, and was expected to play an even bigger role in 2025.
Hopefully, one week is all Miller will be forced to miss, and he’ll be ready to suit up for the Tide’s home opener in Week 2 against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks.
