Former Florida State QB and current ESPN college football analyst Danny Kanell loves to get under people’s skin.

So it should be no surprise to Alabama fans that he’s chosen you on the morning of the College Football Playoff.

Here is a graphic he posted about wins against teams that are ranked in the Top 5 of the AP poll:

So there’s nothing wrong with noting that Bobby Bowden, who is admittedly one of the best coaches in college football history, has more wins than Nick Saban in such games.

But was the text of his Tweet really necessary?

He’s definitely needling Crimson Tide fans who contend that Saban is a better coach than Bowden.

But more than anything, his observation should serve as a reminder that comparing great coaches can be like comparing apples to oranges. Each is dealt his own obstacles to overcome, and each coach brings a unique skill set to a unique coaching circumstance.

No one knows how Nick Saban would’ve done building a Florida State program or how Bobby Bowden would’ve done following Mike Shula at Alabama, but it sure is fun to speculate.
