Kennedy Chandler arrived on Rocky Top with a ton of hype and that was before the freshman guard landed a spot on Team USA.

Now the hype surrounding Tennessee’s five-star freshman has been taken up a notch as Chandler has just been selected to join the 2021 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup Team.

Tennessee announced Chandler’s selection to the team on Friday.

The 2021 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup Team is set to start competing in a few days as the team is currently training in Fort Worth, Texas. Next, the team will head to Latvia to compete in the FIBA U19 World Cup from July 3-11.

TCU’s coach, Jamie Dixon, leads the 2021 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup Team.

Chandler isn’t the first player from Rick Barnes’ program to compete in the U19 World Cup as Josiah-Jordan James was a member of Team USA that won the gold medal at the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.
